We use our best efforts to ensure the security of Personal Information submitted by users. We exercise great care in providing secure transmission of information to our system. Unfortunately, no electronic communication over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We do offer secured-server transactions that encrypt your information in transit to thwart attempts to intercept and misuse it when collecting credit card information for online purchases. We also store any personally identifying information, in an area to which the general public does not have access. Once your order is approved and processed your credit card information is erased from our system.

Shipping Information  

Orders are shipped via UPS within the continental United States.

Most orders ship within one to three business days, and you will be notified if an item is temporarily out of stock. For express delivery or for orders to be delivered to Alaska or Hawaii, please contact our shop via telephone at 919-814-6970 for immediate service or via email at museumshop@nchistoryshop.org

Shipping and handling charges are based on the subtotal of your order. (For extended distances, additional shipping charges may apply, but you would be notified before final order processing.) Our shipping charges are as follows:

Billing Information  

All proceeds of the Museum Shop support the North Carolina Museum of History, a division of the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources.

Return Policy 

At the N.C. Museum of History Shop, your satisfaction is guaranteed, and any item may be returned for a refund or for an exchange. For proper credit, please include the sales receipt or packing list with all returns. Shipping and gift-wrapping charges are non-refundable. For damaged or defective items, please contact us at

Membership Information

North Carolina Museum of History Associates, Inc., members receive a 10% discount on purchases made in the N.C. Museum of History Shop. (The discount applies to merchandise in our online store and in the shop, although certain exclusions may be in effect at any given time; the exclusions generally would include special consignment pieces and would be denoted as nondiscount items if applicable. Also, the discount does not apply to the purchase of memberships, sale items, or gift certificates, and no discounts apply to shipping fees.)

If you are a current member, please note this in the comments box at checkout and complete your order. Your card will not be charged until after we have adjusted your total with your applied discount. To access your e-Ticket: When an order is placed, you will automatically receive an Order Confirmation e-mail to the event indicated during checkout. Please follow your e-Ticket link in this confirmation and sign into your online account to view and print your e-Ticket. e-Tickets must be printed and presented for valid entry.

Admission Tickets are issued as e-Tickets via email. These must be printed and presented with ID or proof of membership at the Museum Shop for valid entry or check-in at Will Call.
