2012 Legislative Building

The 2012 ornament is the Legislative Building, beautifully rendered in color on silver. It was the first building in the United States devoted exclusively to the legislative branch of state government. Designed by renowned architect Edward Durrell Stone, the building, completed in 1963, is classic in character but modern in design, and sits atop a podium made of North Carolina granite.
