2020 Longleaf Pine Ornament
2020 Longleaf Pine Ornament
The 2020 Museum ornament celebrates the State Tree.
"Here's to the land of the longleaf pine, The summer land where the sun doth shine, Where the weak grow strong and the strong grow great, Here's to "Down Home" the Old North State"
The poem which became the North Carolina State toast, seems to use the Longleaf as an example of strength and greatness. These straight and tall evergreens are steady conifers growing 80-100 feet tall. Found mainly in the coastal plain and sandhills area of the state, the longleaf is commonly referred to as the state tree but the designated state tree is simply the pine, encompassing all 8 native species of pine throughout the state.
This silver plated ornament comes gift boxed and with an information card on the Longleaf Pine Tree. Exclusively designed for The Museum Shop & Made in the USA.
