These earrings were inspired by two early 20th century American art sources. The first is the stain glass window, Dogwood, ca. 1900-1915, created by the Tiffany Studios. The second is the painting Dogwood Blossoms, ca.1906 by the American Impressionist Willard Metcalf. Both share a delight in the color and form of this elegant and wonderful tree and a beautiful display of the state flower of North Carolina.
