The Wright Flyer was the first successful heavier-than-air powered aircraft. It was designed and built by the Wright brothers.
On December 17, 1903, Orville Wright piloted this first powered flyer 20 feet above a wind-swept near Kill Devil Hills, about four miles south of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The flight lasted 12 seconds and covered 120 feet.
This metal model kit is made from high quality steel sheets. Each model features incredible detail with parts cut into one or more 4" square steel sheets. Easy to follow instructions are included with each kit and no glue or solder required! Simply snip out the pieces and bend the tabs through corresponding connection points.
